Match report
In a tense match Boreham Wood score in the 7th minute, keeping the lead until half time, despite Wimbledon putting the ball in the net just before the break (Disallowed for Offside)
In the 2nd half the contest became increasingly hard fought and a rash of Yellow Cards were shown 3 to Boreham Wood & 2 to Wimbledon. Following a handball decision Louise Cooper restored parity from the Penalty Spot in the 75th minute. Wimbledon now revitalised put increasing pressure on the home team and Substitute Chanel Richards bundled the ball into the net after 79 minutes. Boreham Wood thought that their 87th minute equaliser would reward them with their 1st point of the season, but their joy was shortlived as in 90th minute Chanel Richards ran through into the box where she was clumsily bundled over by Boreham Wood Defender Elizabeth Caby (bringing about her 2nd yellow card); this time Nina Boorman stepped up and scored low to the Keepers Left.
Wimbledon were able to hold out for their 1st win of the season, there was angry enchanges of views at the final whistle.
