THE DONS awoke from their first half slumber to secured a third league win on the spin and catapult themselves into the play-off places.
The win took Dave Anderson?s on-form troops into fourth place ? and in with a shout of going top at the weekend as the goals continue to fly in.
The 4-0 victory means it?s eleven goals in the last three matches and they now have the leaders in full view.
But the one worry from a near perfect night will be that it took 55 minutes to find any kind of rhythm.
The first period was a poor spectacle as both teams found it hard to get to grips with each other.
Passes were misplaced and the Dons as an attacking force were below par. The thrashing of Harrow three days before looked to have left the players leg weary.
But whatever both managers said at half time worked wonders for Wimbledon ? East Thurrock?s seemingly strong backline went into meltdown as the hosts went on the rampage.
But the visitors should have gone in front three minutes after the restart but Ray Turner couldn?t beat Andy Little.
This shook Wimbledon into life and they went ahead in the 56th minute. Steve Ferguson?s Conference-class cross was inch perfect for hitman Stephen Goddard but goalkeeper Jamie Riley was poor and should have kept the header out.
Nevertheless it was Goddard?s seventh goal in five matches as his hot form in 2007 continued.
Then, three minutes later, it was game over. Luke Garrard?s free-kick to the back stick was on a plate for defender Paul Lorraine and he celebrated making his move from Fisher permanent with his first goal for the club.
Fellow defender Antony Howard was soon in on the act, making the most of Garrard?s corner to bundle the ball into the net for 3-0. He took advantage of Steve Ferguson?s flick on to add to the scoring.
And 14 minutes from time the scoring was complete. Goddard?s long throw caused havoc in the box and it fell kindly to the feet of top scorer Roscoe Dsane and he applied the finish to complete the rout in style.
