Match report
WESTON GREEN UNITED U14 0 - AFC WIMBLEDON U14 5
The under 14's continued their free-scoring form with a professional performance at Weston Green. Dons were so firmly in command that Weston managed their one and only shot five minutes from time, a scuff straight at Jamie Henley!
AFC started quickly, Sam Manzambi running strongly onto a long throw down the left but shooting wide after only three minutes, and Lawrence Ebanks shooting wide from twenty yards after a solo run, before taking the lead on the quarter-hour when Aaron REID set off down the left wing and the keeper could only palm his hard and low cross into the net. Lawrence EBANKS doubled the score when he snapped up a rebound after the keeper could only parry a shot after good work down the right wing. Free-scoring MANZAMBI got his first of the day on the stroke of half-time, recovering first, after he collided with the keeper and a defender, to pass the ball into the empty net.
MANZAMBI got his second soon into the second period, muscling onto another throw in from the right and coolly lobbing the keeper from fifteen yards. Fifteen minutes later and Manzambi should have completed his hat-trick, but headed over a cross from the right. After Weston had their run up the other end, James BAILEY completed the scoring with an easy side-foot shot.
