A late Laura Topliss goal earned the Dons a deserved point in a mediocre opening match.
Old Actonians opened the scoring in the 2nd minute with a firm shot beating Amy Gates at the near post, then Amy Price had two chances, seeing a free kick well tipped over the bar and heading a perfect Lekesha James corner just wide. The visitors then threatened with a header from a corner deflected over.
The visitors began the second half strongly with a header past Gates leading to a chance that was well hustled behind, but after James was denied bravely by the keeper, the game meandered to its close until, in the second minute of injury time, a high 30-yard up-and-under from Laura Topliss dipped over the keeper and under the crossbar to earn the Dons a point.
