For the second week running the Dons had to play in appalling weather conditions consisting of persistent rain and cold temperatures. The Dons took the lead after only 4 minutes when Ryan Cleary connected with a Tom Bingham cross and scored. The Dons kept creating chances but didn’t double their lead until 5 minutes before half time when a cheeky backward header by Callum Glavey found the back of the net.
The second half was more of the same with the Dons in charge and it didn’t take long for Terry Carlin to add his name to the score sheet. Callum scored his second goal of the game when he got on the end of a Luc Vezzu cross. Callum should have got a hat-trick but although his shot beat the keeper a Sheen defender managed to get back and clear it off the line. Tom Bingham scored the final goal after a terrific interception by Stuart Haughton.
This was an emphatic victory that takes the Dons into the next round of the Surrey County Cup. The pitch at the end resembled a mud bath in the centre and one of the cleanest players on the pitch was Jordan Knight in the Dons goal who didn’t have a save to make all game. Sheen played good football at times but were a little lightweight in midfield and the Dons defence didn’t give their strikers any time on the ball.
