The Dons entertained Crescent Rovers from Division One of the Combined Counties League. in the Surrey Premier Cup.
Although the Dons had the edge throughout the match. they found it difficult to reproduce their imrpressive league form and credit should go to the visitors who fought tenaciously to stay in the tie.
The Dons created a number of chances in the first half with Skinner, who proved a handful for his marker all night, being denied twice by goalkeeper Paul Harrison. In the second half Skinner curled in a shot which shaved the post, and It was fitting after his display that he should have a hand In the winning goal. The visitors, who had played a successful offside trap, pushed up again but Elliott held the ball long enough 'or Skinner to time his run down the right to perfection. When he crossed. Earp arrived at the near post to flick the ball in past the helpless keeper to give the Dons a deserved victory.
