CARDIFF CITY BLUEBIRDS RESERVES 1

Cold, Dark and Muddy is the only way to describe the day. However, the team was an enlightenment on the previous outing with Redhill. Cardiff started the game with flare and pace but within 10 minutes our girls had settled down and pushed the ball around, creating some good chances with link up play from Rachel Woodland, Lisa Patey and Michelle Storier having shots on goal.

Wimbledon's back line was strong and very crisp, with tackles and offside traps. The First half carried on with to and fro football with an unlucky shot from Rose Maskell hitting the crossbar, and what was a 100% penalty when Roxanne Camp was deliberately tripped right under the Referee's nose, unfortunately he didn't agree!

The Second half we came out strong and pushed Cardiff to the limit with more shots on goal and some excellent passing and movement on and off the ball, midfield battleground was a standoff between Cardiff's no.8 and Lisa Patey who showed her strength and skills. Both Keepers performed well and needed to, well done to Charlotte Nash who pulled out some great saves.

Cardiff finally managed to beat the offside trap and finished well to take the lead and what was to be the final score.

A mention to Danielle Davies, Rachel Woodland, Michelle Sotrrier and Lisa Patey who were outstanding. But a big well done to all the players on the day's performance, you all get the Player Of The Match Award.

One last mention to John Davies for keeping his feet as well as his head when running the line, thanks John.
