Match report
Three goals conceded in the second half brought about a disappointing scoreline as the Dons met a well organised Casuals team who had started the day in second position in the league.
Michael Fernandes, making his debut, impressed with his defensive midfield duties as half-time came with the scoresheet blank.
After half-time, a scramble in the Dons' goalmouth resulted in Courtney making a brilliant close range save. Five minutes later Casuals' pressure told as a misunderstanding left a forward with a simple tap in. The Dons responded well with Chesters prompting from midfield, a couple of Hill crosses just evading Russell and a Hodges goal bound shot being blocked. Halfway through the half Wimbledon suffered a blow as Ward was forced from the field with injury. His experience was sorely missed as the Dons reshuffled and were left with an inexperienced back four. Just three minutes later Casuals' speedy forward outpaced the defence down the left and he slipped his shot past the advancing Courtney. A minute from time, Casuals added a third after the award of a soft penalty.
