Match report

It doesn't seem like a football score I know! 6-2 up and comfortably cruising before yet again, we let ourselves down. With 12 minutes to go we were pegged back to 6-6, frightening really, to concede a 4 goal lead, we should have been able to protect that with 10 men. We must not forget the basics as we slip from 5th gear down to 1st and yet again, we have to remind you that the game lasts for 80 minutes. We can point to the fact that we did not have a recognised keeper in but we did have 10 players in front of him who collectively, didn't do their jobs. Fortunately, Sarapong beat the offside trap and out muscled the keeper to win us the points on 71 minutes. The earlier goals came from Hennessy, Borg (stormer), Parker 3 (A couple of stormers) and Wellman. A big thanks to Henry for going in goal and well done to Jamie for taking the man of the match with an awesome display.

The negative point was a dire 2nd half showing (A stark contrast to the 1st apparently) that saw 2 points almost frittered away from a seemingly safe position. My main gripe was that too many people were looking around and expecting others to do their jobs for them as we became blase about the match. A couple of people could question their attitudes today as the familiar appearance of sulking players came into the team when things did not go their way and this has to be eradicated in one way or another. You must remember that if someone makes a mistake, the team must pull in together to put it right, not stand around looking like scolded puppies. No one is ever going to say that it was done intentionally as mistakes are accidents and everyone, at some point this season will make a mistake! Look forward, not back!
