MANAGER Terry Eames has named the following squad ahead of the visit of Hartley Wintney:

Terry Eames had the following to say about new signing Glyn "Shimms" Shimmel:

"Glyn is an experienced Ryman Premier League keeper who will benefit the club immensely. Andy Bell has not let us down at all and has done ever so well, but Glyn adds extra experience to the goalkeeping department. We now have two high calibre goalkeepers who will fight it out for the number one shirt".

Terry went on to talk about Saturday's game:

"Every member of the squad is looking forward to Saturday's game. We were all disappointed with the result at Ash, but it showed us we need to be focused for the entire 90 minutes. We have no fear going into games but we know Hartley Wintney are a well organised and hard working side. We must first match that workrate and then hope that our ability comes out and takes us on to a win."

OPERATIONS Director, Lou Carton-Kelly has announced arrangements for the Hartley Wintney match Saturday 31 August:


"We continue to talk to the police regularly about crowd safety at our home matches. After taking into account the improved arrangements that were put in place for the Cove game, the police have agreed that we should open the turnstiles at the later time of 1.00 p.m. for the Hartley Wintney match this Saturday . However, we are expecting another large crowd, so please arrive early or you may not get into the ground before kick off. We would also remind supporters that season ticket holders are guaranteed entry to all home games - 1,342 season tickets have now been sold. This figure is rising on a daily basis and we would like to thank everyone for their support."

AFC Wimbledon is happy to announce today that car park season tickets are now available. These are strictly limited and on sale on a first-come, first-served basis at a price of £100. Passes will be valid for the rest of the season, including any AFC Wimbledon cup matches at Kingsmeadow.

ON Tuesday 3 September we travel to to Chalfont St Peter FC to play Southall.

Southall want to make us all welcome and will be providing marquees with authentic Indian cuisine for us to enjoy. It would be great if we could out eat them as well as hopefully out play them so come along for what promises to be a great night.

The bar will be open from 5pm and the reasonably priced food will be available until it runs out!

MANAGER Terry Eames was in reflective mood following the mixed results from two bank holiday games. The Dons took all three points after reversing a Cove lead in the home game on Saturday 24 August but returned from Ash United pointless despite going two goals ahead.

"Saturday's 3-2 win was fantastic and I was very happy with both the performance and the result. Today was disappointing in terms of the final result but for 60 minutes we were fantastic. We started against Ash how we left off on Saturday and carried the momentum on. We were full of invention and very positive upfront. I told my players today that I was extremely proud of every one of them, not one of them hid. In Chipstead and Ash we have now played two teams that will be there or thereabouts and despite disappointing results we were not beaten comprehensively. I am very happy with our progress and believe we can live with the best."

Terry also had the following to say about the players that featured in pre-season games but were not selected for this squad:

"Some of the supporters will be wondering where the likes of Akin Gallimore, Mehmet Mehmet and Chris Theodore are. I have got some of them playing for Netherne Village in the Surrey Premier League Division One. This will keep them match fit and ready to call upon if and when I need them. The boys are still our players and can play whenever I need to use them. It's a chance for them to continue developing and I am sure they will become better players for the experience they will get playing week in week out. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Netherne's manager Nick English for helping us out. If you would like to watch the boys in action they play their home games at Netherne Lane, Netherne Village."

AFTER consultation with the Football Association, we will be holding a minute's silence immediately before the kick off at our home game against Cove, as a mark of respect for Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.

DUE to circumstances beyond the control of AFC Wimbledon the replica kit has been delayed slightly.

All supporters who had pre-ordered shirts will now be able to collect them at the home match against Hartley Wintney on Saturday 31 August. If you have specified delivery of the kit - it will be available for collection on the Saturday (and of course your postage and packing £2 will be refunded). Any 'delivery specified' kit uncollected will be posted out on Monday 2 September.

Playing and a full range of training kit will available and on sale to those who have not pre-ordered at the home game against Reading Town on Saturday 14 September and at every home match thereafter.

Apologies to those who were looking forward to receiving their kit this Saturday.

OPERATIONS Director, Lou Carton-Kelly has announced an increase in the capacity at Kingsmeadow:

"After much consultation with Kingston Borough Council, the Fire Brigade and the Police, the safety certificate for Kingsmeadow was issued yesterday, giving a capacity of 4262.

It was terribly disappointing to have to turn away fans who wanted to attend our first home game. Please arrive early for the games at Kingsmeadow, especially if you are paying on the turnstile. Better still, to avoid disappointment, invest in a season ticket - for guaranteed entry to all home games and to be first in the queue for vouchers for some of the smaller grounds we will be visiting during the season".

Turnstiles will open at 12 noon for Saturday's game against Cove.

A sell-out crowd of 4,215 watched as AFC Wimbledon were beaten 2-1 by a fortunate but well organised Chipstead side. Former players Tommy McCready, Ian Cooke, Jason Euell, Marcus Gayle, Neal Ardley and Roger Joseph along with former manager Terry Burton and ex-Chief Executive David 'Barney' Barnard were in attendance to see the historic first home game of the newly formed club. Hundred's of disappointed fans were locked out but despite the result a superbly behaved crowd gave their side fantastic support throughout the encounter.

After the match Dons boss Terry Eames refused to talk, leaving keeper Andy Bell to say:

"I'm gutted for the fans tonight. They were awesome and I'm sorry that we let them down. The whole team was devastated at the final whistle. Terry was furious. In the dressing room I held my hand up and said: 'Guys, it was my fault for their winning goal. I'll go and face the press'.

But we have to try and take it on the chin. We dominated large sections of the game, we just didn't take out chances. We should have been 3-0 or 4-0 up by the time they scored their first. Playing before such a big crowd, it was their cup final and they just hung in there and sneaked it.

But I'm confident we will bounce back. We will win the League. The fans have to remember that we played against a side that last season finished third in the League and we should have won. This team can do it.

As for the atmosphere? Well it was absolutely amazing. I have been to Wembley with mates of mine who are at Leyton Orient and the atmosphere tonight was 10 times better.

We were all buzzing for ages and that may have been our downfall. The 30 minute delay kinda took the edge out of it for us, we wanted to get going.

But it's up to us to deliver. We are here to do a job and in the end of the day we didn't do it."

Bell and his team mates get a chance to make amends this Saturday at home to Cove. The game kicks off at 3pm but the turnstiles will be open from 12pm will all supporters urged to enter the ground as early as possible to ensure they gain entrance to what could well be a second successive sell-out crowd.

Speaking about the match Terry said:

"I expect a tough game tonight. This match will be a real test to see how we perform when it really matters. I was not 100% happy with our performance at Sandhurst despite the good result, and I have made sure that the players know that. Chipstead will be up for this game and we must be at our best to get the points we want."

Supporters without season tickets are reminded to get to the ground early tonight with a capacity crowd very possible. Turnstiles will be opening at 6pm, season ticket holders will be admitted through a marked turnstile.

"ALTHOUGH the capacity of Kingsmeadow is usually listed as 6,299, AFC Wimbledon have been informed that the current safety certificate allows for only 4,075 supporters to be admitted to any match at the ground.

Through negotiation with the local authority, we have been able to increase this figure slightly to 4,125. The local authority require further remedial works to be carried out at the ground, after which they will re-asses the safety certificate.

At the moment, it seems almost certain that capacity will be restricted to 4,125, at least for our first two home matches, against Chipstead on Wednesday 21 August and against Cove on Saturday 24 August.

We expect large crowds on both days and we urge all supporters planning to pay on the day to arrive as early as possible to avoid possible disappointment.

We apologise in advance for any supporters who may be unable to watch the match due to the reduced capacity.

AFC Wimbledon are working hard with the Khoslas, the local authority, the police and fire brigade to ensure that as many people as possible can watch matches at Kingsmeadow in safety.

Any Ash vouchers not claimed by Thursday 22 August will be available at Kingsmeadow on Saturday 24 August for Dons Trust members BEFORE the Cove match and then by all supporters AFTER the match.

WITH pre-season over and the league campaign about to begin AFC Wimbledon's squad have been issued their new playing strip. Tomorrow's match against Sandhurst Town will see Terry's team take the pitch in the new blue and yellow home strip. This will be worn for the first three matches, until the away game against Ash United Monday 26th August where the yellow strip will start being worn.

If you have pre-ordered a kit we expect to have these shirts available for the home match against Cove on Saturday 24 August . If you asked for the shirt/s to be mailed you may collect your shirt on the day (and be refunded the £2 P&P)- any shirts not collected that have asked for them to be mailed will be posted on Tuesday 27 August.

PLEASE NOTE - delivery of the shirts is out of AFC Wimbledon's control - we will inform all supporters on this website if this is in any way delayed.

We expect to have shirts available for purchase for the home match against Reading Town on Saturday 14th September. Shorts and training kit will be available shortly afterwards.
