AFCW Programme Production Job Spec:
Brief:
Layout and make print-ready a 48 page full-colour A5 programme for at least 23 home games (21 league + 2 cup), plus possible further cup games (TBC)
Supply initial design for the season.
To be delivered to the printers as separate print-ready PDFs.
Adobe Indesign preferred,
Copy to be supplied as word documents.
Photographs to be supplied electronically (by email or on disc) – they will need to be selected and treated/cropped.
Advertisements to be made print ready. (House advertisements may also be required – see below)
Two pages (adverts) can be assumed to remain the same from one issue to the next.

Saturday games:
Pages go to printers: Tuesday evening/night
Pages to be ready for proofing: Tuesday 3pm
“Late” pages to production by: Monday noon
“Early” pages to production by: Thursday noon
Photos to production by: Sunday/Monday (for previous Sat game)
Adverts to production by: Thursday noon
Tuesday games:
Pages go to printers: Thursday evening / night
Pages to be ready for proofing: Thursday 3pm
“Late” pages to production by: Wednesday noon
“Early” pages to production by: Monday noon
Photos to production by: Monday noon, except if previous Tuesday game to be included – photos from that game on Wednesday
Adverts to production by: Monday noon
Cup games:
Exact dates/timescales obviously not yet known. This may result in a quicker turn-round being required, especially in the case of replays.
48 page for FA Competitions, 32 for non-FA competitions
Pagination: TBC, but similar to season 2003-4.
“Late” pages will include single pages for chairman, captain and league round-up (inc small pics according to design), dps for match reports, manager notes (inc pics), stats and league table. May also include late “stop press” interview - approx ten of 48 pages.
“Early” pages will be all else.
Photographs will need be selected and treated by the production dept, in consultation with the club journalist.
Adverts expected to be eight of 48 pages – copy to be supplied in any useable format.
House adverts are also used – they may need to be designed and/or laid out.
