This game would be interesting to see how the boys would react after last week?s defeat. Both teams were very organised and Croydon Athletic had one or two pacey players. After 10 minutes Wimbledon lost their captain due to a knee injury. Just like last week Wimbledon now had to play the rest of the game with no substitutes. The stalemate was broken just before half time by a George Martin goal.
On 47 minutes Wimbledon doubled the lead when a George Jones pass found Callum Glavey who put the ball in the back of the net. Although Croydon put up a good performance they never threaten the Wimbledon goal. The performance by the Wimbledon centre back pairing of Reece Brewster and Reece Hannigan was outstanding especially considering that both boys were unwell.
