A cracking County Cup game was played on Sunday morning between two evenly matched sides that both tried to play entertaining football. AFC were behind early when the impressive Barnes striker raced through to score the opener, which was cancelled out 8 minutes later after Joe Baugh broke free to score. The first half ended 1-1 but Barnes Eagles again took the lead early in the second half before Jerell Gidden equalised for the Dons with a goal following a corner. The game went from end to end and needed extra time to try and separate the two teams. Joe Baugh scored a goal that the fans thought would be the winner, only for Barnes to equalise with the last kick of the first period of extra time. The second period ended with no more goals. The dreaded penalty shoot out came to an end after sudden death when goalkeeper Ross Thomas dived to his right to make the crucial save and send the Dons into the next round.
