Match report
After an excellent defensive display in the first hour the Dons fell away against the league leaders at Kingsmeadow Athletics Stadium to lose 6-1.
Ipswich went ahead in the 7th minute when Warnes converted a cross from the left with the Dons having appealed unsuccessfully for an offside earlier in the move. Blake then shot against the Dons crossbar and the visitors continued to press with Charlotte Nash saving well from Parnell and Rex.
After the interval Stephens had the ball in the net only to be flagged offside, then in a rare Dons attack Lekesha James saw her free kick well saved by Lunn. Nash then denied Allum before a four goal blitz in nine minutes secured the points for the visitors. Allum turned in Parnell's cross to make it 2-0 in the 67th minute, Stephens scored with a low shot three minutes later, then it was 4-0 after Nash saved from Allum only for the rebound to be converted. Warnes made it 5-0 in the 75th minute when converting a Stephens cross, then after Nash had denied Blake, the same player converted Allum's cross in the 90th minute. In injury time Lunn could only parry a fierce Lekesha James shot and Laura Topliss was on hand to register a consolation goal.
