Match report

Fay Ludlow in defenceThe Ladies travelled to North London to take on last year's League winners.

Manager Patrick Noirette took full advantage of roll-on roll-off substitutions to try several different line-ups and formations, and it was only in the last 15 minutes that the home side took advantage to score the final two of their three goals.

The Dons, although creating plenty of half-chances and seeing several shots pass narrowly wide or over, went behind against the run of play after half an hour when a low cross from the right was turned in at the back post. AFC Wimbledon also hit the post directly from a corner in the second half, before the home side eased away in the final quarter of an hour, the first of those a lob after a poor defensive clearance and the second another far post tap-in, this time from a break down the left.

Noirette said he was pleased with the shape the team was taking and that it was a much better performance than on Tuesday, but admitted there was still plenty to work on before the season proper kicks off in two weeks.
