Sunday 29 March 2009 Surrey Youth League U13 Premier Elite
Both sides started well and the game was evenly matched. Both teams had early chances but the game remained goalless until the half way point of the half when Terry Carlin saw the Brockham keeper parry his first shot but he made no mistake with the rebound. As the half was coming to an end Ebenezer Isiakpona seized the opportunity to make it 2-0.
The Brockham manager’s half time talk obviously fired up his players as they came out with a much more positive attitude and quite a battle ensued with Wimbledon having to raise their game to match the opposition. However the lead was extended on 50 minutes when Harry Bruce let fly with a powerful drive, which the Brockham keeper couldn’t hold and left George Martin with a tap in. On 62 minutes Brockham scored a consolation goal. In the last minute of the game Callum Glavey received the ball with his back to goal and hit a looping shot into the back of the net.
This was a very entertaining game to watch and full credit must go to Brockham Badgers as the are certainly one of the better footballing sides in the league.
