Sunday 01 February 2009 Surrey Youth League U14 Premier Elite
1st half: strong wind and cold weather affected the game somehow but both teams got on with the game and played an exciting football. By the half time, AFC was 3-0 up.
2nd half: With 20 minutes remaining of the game, Rhys got injured and was taken off. AFC playing with 10 men, managed to score further 3 goals, however, had to concede a goal (66 minutes).
The opposition showed great spirit and played well. However, AFC, inspite of the absence of 4 of its players, managed to achieve a convincing win.
Some good football was played where AFC had at least another 5 more opportunities to score. Shervin’s long shot hit the cross-bar and believed to be a goal but referee did not give it. Jack managed to save a free kick just outside of the box with impressive punch out.
This was Kieran’s first appearance (our new member of the squad).
