This was a Surrey Cup Semi Final & was played with expectations from both teams.
The weather & the pitch were ideal for this game and both teams were looking forward to give it their best. A high tempo game started and within 3 minutes, George scored with a shot to the lower left corner. The rest of the 1st half, the game was played mainly in the opposition half with no credible threat to AFC.
The 2nd half followed similar pattern when the ball was played back & forth. AFC were aiming to get the 2nd goal were as the opposition were striving to equalise. However, in spite of a few corner shots and free kicks, no further advances were made. In the last five minutes of the game, a push by the opposition player resulted in Kieron getting involved in a pushing and shoving. As a result, the referee awarded a red card to each player & the game continued with 10 men on both sides.
Apart from the above incident, the game was played in a pleasant atmosphere with good intent on both sides.
