Wednesday 06 May 2009 Surrey Youth League U14 Premier Elite
This was the last away league game of the season and both teams were looking forward to giving it their best. AFC was already league cup winners & league champions on points but the win in this game could seal its unbeaten record over the last 15 months.
1st half: within a few minutes, the opposition counter attack resulted in the ball hitting the post. However, the game with its fast tempo continued with attack & counter attack on both sides. 20 minutes passed when William headered the ball to Anthony who passed a defender and lobbed the keeper, hitting the post but James stroud scored on the rebound.
2nd half: Alex & Shervin were taken off at half time due to injury. The opposition were better organised in this half by passing the ball around and making advances to include a few shots at the goal which comfortably handled by Jack. AFC also had a few chances on direct shots at the goal & corners. However, no further advance on score, so the result stayed at 1-0 to AFC.
Overall, AFC had the upper hand in the 1st half were as the opposition slightly edged better in the 2nd half. Both teams were eager to advance and attack but AFC defence made it to the end by not conceding any goal.
the opposition had only one attempt on goal in the whole game with afc dons creating far more chances overall.
