AFC Wimbledon produced a very poor performance last night losing to Woking 2 - 0 in the Ryman Youth League.
On a blustery and very wet night things started badly as keeper Ali Aksoy was injured in the warm up and was unable to take goal kicks. This though should not be used as an excuse as too many players put in very poor performances with probably one eye on next weeks FA Youth Cup Second Round game against Bournemouth.
AFC Wimbledon failed to test the Woking keeper in the first half and also conceded a goal from a 40 yard free kick, albeit wind assisted.
With the wind at their backs in the second half AFC did not improve as again the keeper was rarely tested. Woking were not much better in truth but of the very few chances they got they scored their two goals, the second coming five minutes from time as a corner was poorly defended by AFC players allowing a free header then a player to turn in the six yard box and fire past Aksoy in goal.
Performances will need to improve with the Bournemouth game coming up next week.
