AFC WIMBLEDON LADIES 0 PORTSMOUTH LADIES 2
A very disappointing display saw AFC Wimbledon's Ladies lose 2-0 at home to an improved Portsmouth side, their first home League defeat since September last year.
Portsmouth had the better of the first half with Wilson's shot tipped over the bar by Louise Cooper, Wilson having a lob come back off the post and McGee's volley clipping the crossbar. Julie Bygrave's shot was palmed onto the top of the crossbar, but it was the visitors who went ahead in the 44th minute, a long ball not cut out by the defence allowing McGee to stab the ball home over Cooper.
Portsmouth extended their lead straight after the break when Cooper could only parry Wilson's shot allowing McGee to cross for Stacey Niven to volley home. Stacey Niven then missed a sitter from 5 yards. Portsmouth were now content to sit on their lead, and when Vicky Elcome's corner was headed back across goal by Maria Bertelli, Kerry Knott saw her shot well saved. Keisha Ramos saw a shot well tipped away and Elcome's corner found the unmarked Lisa Patey who volleyed over from 2 yards. Bertelli's free kick was blocked and from the rebound Elcome flashed a shot just wide, then a low Beth Sims cross found Patey, whose low shot was comfortably saved as the Dons were unable to record a consolation.
