An excellent first half display paved the way for another comfortable Dons victory.
AFC Wimbledon went ahead in the 11th minute, Gemma Hunt finding Beth Sims down the left for an excellent cutback stabbed in by Andi McGrady from close range. Laura Smith was then denied by a good save, but in the 17th minute she extended the Dons lead with a shot from a Lizzie Laws corner helped in by a defender. McGrady burst through and volleyed onto the roof of the net, Maria Bertelli headed a Jemma Lindfield corner just wide, then Townshend was clean through only for her attempted lob to be well held by Louise Cooper. The Dons went 3-0 ahead on half time, an excellent Laws through ball allowing Sims to clip the ball past Ayre.
The second half was more even with the Dons unable to recapture their first half sparkle. Gemma Hunt's attempted chip was well taken by Ayre, who then did well to turn a Sims shot round the post. Burns drilled a shot past Cooper but Rachel Axon was able to kick the shot behind, then a Townshend free kick was turned round the post by Cooper. A firm Smith volley grazed the post and debutant substitute Christine Alamu headed a McGrady cross just wide before, deep into injury time, Carly Hunt crossed for Alamu to send a firm glancing header into the bottom far corner of the net and complete the scoring.
