Match report
AFC WIMBLEDON LADIES 2 MILLWALL LIONESSES 0
Two early goals were enough to ensure a hard-fought Dons victory against a skilful Millwall side.
A great Gemma Hunt through ball allowed Keisha Ramos a shot just wide before the Dons went ahead in the 16th minute, Carly Hunt sweeping a ball out to Ramos, who found Beth Sims for a lob over the keeper allowing Gemma Hunt to score from close range. Ramos and Gemma Hunt then combined to set up Laura Smith for a fierce volley just over, then the Dons went further ahead, Carly Hunt playing in Sims for a lob that the keeper could only help into the net. Louise Cooper saved comfortably from Rafferty and Buckley, then Sims crossed for Gemma Hunt to volley over from 5 yards, and Andy McGrady then shot straight at Glover when well placed.
The second half was much tighter with Sims shooting just wide and Rafferty's shot going just past the far post. Vicky Elcome's inswinging corner was missed by the near post defender and hacked off the line, then Lizzie Laws thumped a beautiful 40-yard volley off the underside of the bar, and when Gemma Hunt turned in the rebound she was given offside. In the closing stages Cooper saved well from Campbell and then came out well to clear a dangerous through ball.
