Match report

A little bit of history was made at Tolworth when two Dons sides played each other in a competitive match for the first time. With both sides at the top of the league, this match was always going to be a close encounter with goals at a premium. The first 39 minutes saw efforts flash by the posts for each team but it wasn?t till the 40th minute when Jamie Henley had to fly kick a free kick by Jordan Cheedle for a corner that either keeper was tested. The deadlock was broken ten minutes into the second half when Aaron Reid sent a well flighted corner to the back post. In the forthcoming melee Lawrence Ebanks was on hand to stab the ball home form close range to put Youth one up. Shortly afterwards a blistering shot by Ebanks from outside the box was well saved by County keeper Sam Collier. Another assist by Jason Chapman helped Colts equalize in the 60th minute, His lovely ball split the defence and Ollie Treacher fired home from just inside the area to become the 12th outfield scorer in 8 competitive games for the Colts. A draw was a fair result and one that will hopefully see both sides promoted come April.
