Coming back on the M25 from Kent on Sunday morning to get back so I can prepare things for the game, I look to both sides of the motorway and all I see is snow covered fields. Is the game on? Well no phone calls from Bert to say otherwise, or for that matter Dorking Football Club. So I load the van, Sarah finishes the sandwiches and all is set. Then I get the phone call from Bristol City who are at the ground and have been told by staff that the pitch was unplayable. Now did I panic? NO. Did I swear? NO. Did I mention that the time was 12:15 and the ladies were all on their way? NO. So now my mobile is red hot ringing to find out why the game was off. I can only make a very long story short by saying hat is was a misunderstanding and it was my call whether we play the game or not, the rest is history. That's the run up, this is the game... Bristol came at us with confidence and power but 10 minutes later we have turned the game around and look like scoring and that we did. Having pushed Lisa Patey up from midfield into a forward roll, she received the ball with great control, turned and slotted home into the corner of the net. (20mins). This inspired us on and we took control of the game, with more chances wasted half time was on us. The atmosphere was great and feelings were high. It didn't take long before another perfectly slotted ball from Amy Price and Roxanne Camp puts it away and we're 2-0 up (55mins). Bristol's heads are down and bad feelings are in their camp. This only inspired us on to better things and into the 70th minute a beautifully floated ball from Lisa Patey out to the flank for Roxanne Camp to run onto and forty yards out, she saw the keeper off the line and hit the sweetest shot to ake 3-0. I have to say that Charlotte Nash was outstanding once again and the back line was a credit to all. Everybody should pat themselves on the back. Well done.
