Sunday 29 January 2006 West Surrey Youth League U10 Premier Elite
AFC Wimbledon continued their winning ways with an excellent footballing display against Rocks Lane. Wimbledon looked to take the lead early on with some fine inter play between Sam Toms and George Martin, only to see the final shot beat the keeper but hit the wrong side of the post. The same two players combined on 20 minutes and this time George found the back of the net.
In the second half Wimbledon continued to be in the driving seat and Sam Toms got his name on the score sheet with a looping shot, which went in off the post. The game was wrapped up with 10 minutes remaining with George Martin scoring again. The defence also deserve a mention today, hence man of the match Kiran Khinda-John, as they never let Rocks Lane threaten their goal. This game was a pleasure to watch as both sides tried to play attractive, passing football.
