On a bitterly cold day AFC Wimbledon went into this tricky fixture knowing another win would bring them that little bit nearer the league title. Wimbledon had all the early possession but couldn?t turn their hard work into goals. Meadow Sports worked hard to close Wimbledon down but really didn?t create much of a threat in attack.
With the second half barely started Wimbledon mounted an attack with Jamie Hills shooting from outside the area and the keeper failed to hold on to the ball, leaving Callum Glavey with a simple tap in. After 40 minutes Wimbledon had a clear-cut penalty decision turned down but after regaining the ball, Reece Hannigan hit a bullet shot, which was tapped in by George Martin to double the lead. Again Meadow Sports had no real shots at goal during the half and this was due to the excellent work of the Wimbledon defence and especially man of the match Kiran Khinda-John.
