Sunday 12 March 2006 West Surrey Youth League U10 Premier Elite
Playing their last home league game of the season, Wimbledon signed off in style. The Dons took the lead with less than two minutes played when George Martin blasted the ball into the net from an acute angle. Wimbledon dominated the half but didn?t add to the score until the closing minutes with a headed goal from a corner by Reece Hannigan. Then in the final minute George Martin scored his second with an almost identical finish to his first.
With the second half barely started Brad Sexton got his name on the score sheet after some fine work by Eddie Mason. Sam Toms bagged two quick goals to put the game completely out of reach for Halliford. Wimbledon scored again when a header was blocked on the line and George Martin claimed his hat-trick by putting away the rebound. Reece Hannigan completed the scoring when he collected the ball on the half way line and dribbled past a couple of defenders before unleashing a bullet shot which flew into the back of the net.
