Match report

On probably the smallest pitch in the league, which was not conducive to Wimbledon?s style of play the boys set about trying to carve out the victory they need to keep them on track for the league title. Wimbledon dominated the early exchanges and hit the post twice, with the ball rolling agonisingly along the goal line but no Wimbledon foot able to make contact with it. Tolworth kept bodies behind the ball the whole time and offered very little in attack.

With 36 minutes played, and a little frustration creeping into the Wimbledon team, George Martin broke the deadlock with a clinical finish from outside the area. Wimbledon tried to consolidate their lead and it would have been unjust had Tolworth managed to grab an equaliser, but the second goal wasn?t coming. Wimbledon plugged away and now are just one win from the title.

Man of the Match ? Reece Hannigan
