Match report
The Dons got back on the winning trail after their midweek defeat with a hard fought victory.
Martin was quickly in action and Angell was required to make an important saving tackle as the visitors threatened. Hodge came close to scoring when he headed over Hill's corner and even closer when he hit the post with the keeper beaten. Martin was required to make another important save but a goalless first half was a fair reflection of the play.
The Dons raised the tempo in the second half and within five minutes of the restart took the lead. Angel's header from a corner hit the bar and came out to Hill. The goalkeeper failed to hold his cross and Trefry netted from close range. The second came after 7l minutes when a one-two between Taylor and Elliot,who had just come on for the injured Trefry, put Elliot clear down the right and his low cross was stabbed home by Joe Hill. Slightly against the run of play the visitors pulled one back 10 minutes from time when a Wimbledon corner was cleared upfield. The visitors broke quickly and although Martin got a hand to the resulting shot, the ball entered the net via the post. The win was secured five minutes before the end when good approach work was rewarded by a second goal of the game from Joe Hill.
