Corinthian Casuals Reserves
Match report
An impressive display from the reserves saw them gain revenge for an early season defeat against Casuals.
The Dons started the game at a good tempo with the midfield quartet denying Casuals time and space and after 15 minutes took the lead. Debutante Perry's mishit shot fell at the feet of falana, who prodded home from five yards. Ten minutes later, following a good interchange down the left, Dobinson's low cross reached the far post and the defender, under pressure from Falana, put through his own goal. Attempts by Casuals to get back into the game were denied by two fine saves from Merry and the half ended with Rob Hill and Taylor both coming close to increasing the lead.
Within four minutes of the restart the Dons did get their third as Rob Hill took advantage of hesitancy in the visitors' defence and slotted the ball home past a helpless keeper. Injuries to Perry and Falana resulted in Dobinson moving to the centre forward position and his pace put him into good positions on three occasions, but his shots went wide or high. Although Casuals pulled one back ten minutes from time, the Dons were in little danger and the game ended with substitute Watts twice coming close.
