Match report
An entertaining game against one of the stronger teams in the League resulted in the reserves earning a deserved point.
The home side had slightly the better of the territorial play early on, although neither goalkeeper was required to make a save of note. When they kept the ball on the floor the Dons looked the better team and on 23 minutes a defence splitting pass into the box from Bamfo found Yee, who knocked the ball into the net to register his first goal of the season. On 26 minutes Towse also got his first when Rob Hill's long free kick was headed against the post and Towse put in the rebound. On halftime Joe Hill headed off the line to keep the lead intact.
Fisher upped their pace and aggression in the second-half and the Dons were immediately on the backfoot. Ten minutes into the half, they were harshly penalised for a foul just outside out the box and the resulting free kick was curled round the wall and into the corner of the net. The equaliser also came from a free-kick which eluded the defence and found the incoming winger, giving Merry no chance. The momentum was very much with the home team and the Dons did well to hold on to their point with Elliott and Borck impressing In defence and Merry making two good saves in the last five minutes.
