Sunday 15 January 2006 Surrey Primary League U10 Division One
AFC Wimbledon dominated this top of the table clash and regained top spot in the division with a brilliant battling display. The early exchanges were dominated by the Dons and they deservedly took the lead when man of the match Charlie Bulmer beat three Lions defenders before squaring the ball to Eddie Pinder who made no mistake in front of goal. At half time the score remained 1-0 but a defensive mix up five minutes into the second half gave the visitors striker a tap in to equalise and really set up the second half. The Dons played some attractive passing football and Charlie Bulmer went close on a couple of occasions after some neat footwork left the Lions defenders stranded. The winner eventually came from an unlikely source as Kiran Khinda John scored direct from a corner that gave the excellent Lions keeper little chance and the Dons are now in the driving seat in the League. This was a great game of football and both sides deserve a mention for the standard of football that was played.
