Sunday 02 April 2006 Surrey Primary League U10 Division One
AFC Wimbledon U10s remain in pole position in the league despite dropping two points in this keenly fought match. George Irwin took on the keeper?s gloves as Callum Fenton-Jones was not available and he kept a clean sheet in a hard fought first half that ended 0-0 despite chances being made. The second half started much better and the Dons took a 1-0 lead when striker Charlie Bulmer latched on to a long pass from Henry Peuble before shaking off a defender and smashing a left foot shot from the corner of the box into the top corner giving the keeper no chance. More chances were created but Wimbledon were punished with 10 minutes to go when Meadow Boys - who are the only side to beat the boys this season - equalised and then held their nerve to take a fourth point this season from the league leaders. Special mention should go to George and Jamal Daley who also went in goal late on.
