AFC Wimbledon Colts v Horsley A
Horsley started the game the better side and quickly applied pressure on the Colts goal and should have been 2 or 3 goals up in the first 5 minutes.
Peter and Jamie in defence were battling for every ball and making goal saving tackles and frustrating the Horsley forwards. Conor was also having to do more than usual and made some great saves to keep us in the game.
After about 10 minutes the Colts started to settle down a little and they started to play some great football. It wasn?t long before the break through came, a header from Charlie which opened his account for the Colts.
The Colts started to take control of the game and Toby scored the second from a great passage of play in the midfield.
Charlie scored the 3rd goal. Thomas came on for the hard working Daniel and quickly showed some great one touch passing.
Josh hardworking as ever in midfield, with his continuous running and tackling, was rewarded with his 3rd goal of the season.
The Colts went into the half time break 4 nil up, which to be fair to Horsley flattered us.
After the break Horsley came out and played how they started the game on the attack and came close to scoring.
Daniel took over from Jamie in defence and was soon in the thick of the action with some big tackles.
Lewis was working hard up front and came close on a couple of occasions.
Horsley were finally rewarded with a well deserved goal to make it 4-1.
The game then seemed to go flat after that goal for a period of time until Charlie stepped up to score his hat-trick.
The game finished 5-1 to the Colts. A great result but a closer game than the final result suggests.
