Sunday 18 December 2005 Surrey Primary League U10 Cup
The Dons put in a very disappointing performance in this cup clash with Farncombe Trojans and went down 2-1. The early exchanges were shared with both sides going close before a disastrous mix up between defence and goalkeeper gifted the visitors a very tame own goal to take a 1-0 lead that lasted to half time. The Dons started brighter in the second half and top scorer Charlie Bulmer equalised with a shot from the edge of the area that seemed to pass every player in the crowded box before the keeper made an unsuccessful last ditch effort to keep it out. This should have been the start of the comeback as the Dons were now on top, but a reshuffle including moving Striker Charlie Bulmer into midfield backfired severely with a breakaway goal from Farncombe 3 minutes later that knocked the wind out of the home sides sails. Farncombe Trojans then showed more battling instinct than the home side and seemed to win every loose ball to ensure they returned home victorious.
