A first clean sheet in their warm up games was one of the few positives to come out of this friendly. With John Morris giving game time to 5 trialists, 4 of which started the game, a lack of cohesion was always going to be a problem. The game started brightly with the Dons having the best of the chances and Casey Maclaren continued his run of goals with a 15th minute header from Steve Goddard's long throw.
Some poor finishing and excellent goalkeeping prevented any increase in the Dons lead and the second half passed disappointingly as both teams made numerous substitutions. However the game gave the manager an opportunity to look at a number of new players and for fitness levels to rise.
