Whitton Town Youth 3 AFC Wimbledon U14 Girls 1.
(4-4-2)
K.0 1.00pm
The first 15mins were all Dons way with good possession and team work.
We camped in their half and needed to follow up good probing work by our
midfield. Good system played and solid performance all round.
A few good efforts missed and things were looking positive.
Whitton scored first 19 mins into the game with a quick break on right flank.
Debut today for Dons Faye Pearson and a good first half.
We missed Tara today and Ellen. We fought on to level up.
Injuries hampered us again with Jo-ankle and Helen-knee
just to complicate a difficult season.
HT
Serena on for Liz and a few further chances on goal.
Dons gave back with a crafty goal from Olivia Golder to even things up.1-1.
Better possession, shots on target and chances missed by inches denied us
another goal. Sophie and Serena and Jenny all had good chances denied.
Whitton hit back after we equalised quickly when concentration was dropping.
Two late goals and many saves by Steph denied us that away win we desire.
Dons were far better today with good skill, teamwork and battles won in defence
and
midfield. We need to learn to advance and finish better. Missed chances on
corners
and rebounds denied us that victory.
I am confident we are soon to hit good form. The Dons spirit continues.
