Sunday 17 September 2006 West Surrey Youth League U11 Premier Elite
AFC Wimbledon were handed a tough opening fixture against last season?s runners-up. A fairly even exchange to begin with but the Dons soon started to dominant. After 20 minutes the Dons were awarded a free kick, which Bradley Sexton took and Callum Glavey was on hand to tap in the rebound. The second goal was a great individual goal from George Martin, who from a poor goal kick headed the ball twice and then fired it like a bullet into the net. With very little of the first half remaining the Dons were given another free kick and this time George Martin tapped in the loose ball.
In the second half the Dons came out looking to extend their lead and from a clearance by the goalkeeper, Jordan Knight, Eddie Mason controlled the bouncing ball and slotted past the Eagles keeper. Eddie Mason claimed his second 2 minutes later after some lovely work by Ben Hunt. Eagles scored a consolation goal from a corner with 4 minutes remaining.
