Sunday 15 April 2007 West Surrey Youth League U11 Premier Elite
The Dons kept up their 100% record in the league this season with a convincing win over Epsom Eagles. Epsom Eagles took the lead from their first attack of the game when their striker found himself one on one with the keeper. Wimbledon didn?t panic and went about their task to find the equaliser. Wimbledon were awarded a corner late in the first half and with a bullet like header, Luc Vezzu buried the ball in the back of the net.
The second half saw the Dons step up a gear and within one minute they had taken the lead from a goal by Ebenezer Isiaakpena. This was followed by the goal of the game scored by George Martin. From a clearance by Reece Brewster, Ebenezer ran virtually the length of the pitch and found Eddie Mason, who in turn picked out George to slot home. Two minutes later George found the back of the net again from another Eddie Mason pass. Ryan Cleary then scored to put the game out of Eagles reach. Eagles grabbed a consolation goal late on, again with a quick break and a one on one with the keeper. Callum Glavey rounded off the scoring with a tap in, with two minutes remaining.
