Name: Clydie Roberts
Profile: Cousin of England striker Jermaine Defoe, Clydie came through the youth ranks at Redbridge FC and successfully made the transition to the Motormen's first team. After a short spell with Thurrock, he moved on to Canvey Island. Voted the Gulls' Player's Player of the Year after an impressive 2006/7 season where he made 44 appearances, scoring three goals. Technically gifted midfielder who is comfortable on the ball and passes it well. Made his Dons debut as a trialist in the second half of the Lanes Cup game at Tooting in July 2007, but was not subsequently offered a contract by Terry Brown. Updated [20 July 2007]
